Heart-to-Heart #13: sex and the beach

by Hsien-Hsien Lei, PhD on June 26th, 2006

With her sharp wit and sense of humor, Manola Blablablanik at sex and the beach is definitely not in danger of “broken heart” syndrome.

The condition mimics a heart attack; symptoms include chest pain and breathlessness. In the case of jilting, additional symptoms include the desire to throw all his clothes out the balcony in the manner of Italian movies, which is easy in Italy, as clothes are hung out to dry on the balcony anyway.

Me thinks Manola has had some interesting experiences with love. ;)

Hey there, I added this site to my oh-so-accurate post about “broken heart syndrome” …

By the way, all joking aside, unfortunately the author of Manola has suffered from ‘broken heart syndrome’ … but I have always wondered, Dr. Suckmy Gupta and Dr. Igotstoned (South Beach Diet creator an eminent cardiologist), have never, when I’ve seen them interviewed, discussed the similarity of symptoms between such ‘emotionally produced’ conditions and panic attacks … have you posted about this before? I’ve read about women going to the ER thinking they are having a heart attack when it was in fact a panic attack. Just curious. :-)

Thanks, Manola! :) I haven’t blogged about the similarity between panic attacks and heart attack symptoms in women but thanks for the idea. Let me do some research on that and get back to you.
