Hearty Habits #5: Vegetables Are Good For You!
Vegetables are supremely heart healthy. If you don’t believe me, maybe you’ll believe Kristina Chew over at A Hearty Life’s sister blog, Autism Vox.
Eating lots and lots and lots of vegetables—-a habit from growing up near the Berkeley (CA) “gourmet ghetto” and from my grandparents on both sides (and my parents), who always made sure there were bowls of all kinds of Chinese choi and “just a bit of meat” on the table (well, also lots of other good things—not the Chinese food from a restaurant). (The best part of all the vegetable-eating is that Charlie eats his share, too.)
I also run every day…started when I did cross country in high school.
That makes me look too healthy, so I’ll fess up to drinking lots of coffee.
Her healthy habits put me to shame.

Ah, a runner, there you go. Runners are always skinny! But, I agree. I love my vegies!

Tammy: It’s not all about skinny, though. High cholesterol and increased risk of atherosclerosis can happen even in thin people! See this previous post.

If I may add one thing, motherhood keeps me healthy—-I have to stay and be healthy to take care of Charlie!
If I may say so, motherhood is good for the heart.
