A Hearty Brag
One of my friends and readers, Amelie, sent me this lovely note about A Hearty Life. (I’d asked for a testimonial to use for promotional purposes.)
As someone who’s been suffering from heart disease since my early teens, I’m always on the lookout for useful information in order to make my life just a tiny bit easier. The vast majority of what appears in the media is targeted at the elderly, and it can be very daunting in your teens or twenties to be part of a crowd that has so very few members under the age of 60.
A Hearty Life doesn’t have this stigma; the blog speaks to everyone, with stories of real people, including younger people and children. Females are more than fairly represented as well, so as to break the stereotype of heart disease only affecting men. The information is clearly laid-out, useful, trustworthy, always quoting sources, and linking to other websites for more information. There is always a hint of humour – as long as it’s appropriate for the subject matter. Advice is given with the intent to encourage people rather than criticize. I’m really pleased to be able to read a good quality blog about a serious matter, but presented in such a positive way.
Thank you, Amelie! You really made my week. :)
