What motivates you to stay heart healthy?

by Hsien-Hsien Lei, PhD on February 3rd, 2007

heart angiogramDr. Jonathan Schwimmer at Kidney Notes relates the story of a cardiologist who suggested that his patient put an angiogram of his narrowed coronary arteries on the fridge to remind him to adhere to a healthy lifestyle - exercise, diet, and meds.

Mark credits his dog for getting him out of bed in the morning to exercise. What motivates you to keep your heart healthy?

now matter how old we are, we should keep on regular excercise to keep our heart heathy!
I have tried very heart to tell my patients the importance of excercise.

My kids are my motivation. Knowing that what I eat and how I exercise my heart can have a big impact on the length and quality time I have with my children are the first things that have caused any real change in my bad habits. I’m not perfect, but my habits are tons better than they were a few years ago!
