Learn About Your Heart from Science With Me!
Earlier today, I was embarrassed to find out that the heart you see in the banner of A Hearty Life was from Science With Me!, a science website for children, and that I had failed to give proper attribution. (My designer, who did a terrific job with the colors of the site and the banner, didn’t tell me where she got the image from.) Dr. Elva O’Sullivan very kindly emailed to let me know that I was free to use the image and I want to thank her very very much!
More importantly, the Science With Me! website is a wealth of information about science, including human anatomy. There is A Heart-y Lesson that explains the basic of how the heart works, worksheets that include diagrams of the heart, a science project that teach children about the heartbeat.
Teaching our children about their body will hopefully give them a greater appreciation for how amazing it is and how they can help keep everything ticking smoothly. Science With Me! is a great place to start.
