Both Men and Women Benefit from Taking Aspirin for the Heart
Aspirin is good for you, whether you’re a man, whether you’re a woman.
~Dr. Jeffrey Berger of Duke University Medical CEnter
And there you have it! Latest results from the Nurses Health Study show that taking aspirin in low to moderate doses (baby aspirin is 81-mg per tablet) can:
-
Reduce the risk of death in middle-aged and older women by 25%
-
Reduce the risk of death from cardiovascular disease by 38%
-
Reduce the risk of death from cancer by 12%
Doctors are suggesting that women talk to their personal physicians to make sure that it’s ok for them to take aspirin as a disease prevention measure.

Aspirin doesn’t agree with me or with my medication :(
(Neither does ibuprofen by the way. Paracetamol/acetaminophen is the only painkiller I can use.)

My father has no blockage or heart problems at age 93 and swears by his aspirin (full strength) daily, taken for many years. He says it is the true miracle drug with no side affects when taken as directed.
